Economical Landscape During WW1

One thing that I am particularly interested more about during World War I is how the economic landscape of the country was altered. I am interested in learning more about the dramatic change a country goes through when they are at war. I want to explore how a nation can complety alter the production of goods and services to be focused on products of war. In this light, I want to investigate the rationing movement and victory gardens that came with it. That kind of sacrifice not only lifts spirits on the home front, but it ultimately leads to success on the battlefield.

From an economic standpoint, it is extraordinary that war can boost production at the snap of a finger. It has been noticed that the beginning of World War II production is what pulled the United States out of the Great Depression. Some of the country’s toughest years were changed dramatically. My goal in this investigation is to better understand how a country’s economy can be altered so dramatically and so quickly due to wartime.

I think your idea of how the economic landscape changed during WWI is very interesting, and is something that not everyone considers and thinks about. I feel like it would be cool to include something about how Connecticut’s economy changed during the war. This essay has the potential to be really good and very intriguing.

This post has a very interesting idea. The fact that the U.S could switch to a manufacturing mindset so quickly is amazing. Maybe mention more about how the country could pull this off. This post is one that purposes an interesting thinking strategy, but a little more detail could push it even farther. The picture is very persuasive toward the side of supporting the war, which is exactly what the U.S wanted.

Great topic that not many historians focus on when thinking about WWI. I really enjoy how you develop a base for what you want to research next. This really helps the flow of a blog posta and keeps the reader interested in learning about your next topic. I would recommend that you further explain how WWII connects to WWI from an economic standpoint.

I think this topic is a great one. I think that if you use some of the ideas that Owen uses about the different factories that helped with the war effort, this topic could take off. Another suggestion is to find some other aspects of the economy that are affected during the war.

This topic is very interesting and there is a lot to explain as a country is completely altered after something so extreme as WWI. I think it would be good to maybe include some statistics on how much it changed on an economic standpoint and also included how Connecticut was altered specifically and you could compare Connecticut to the rest of America or other countries.
